Run Or Dye, the world’s most colourful family fun run, will once again return to the beautiful and historic Penshurst Place on Sunday 30th June 2019, bringing colour-filled dye stations, foam zones and a festival to the 14th Century Manor House.
Run or Dye has seen thousands of participants run, walk, jog or dance around the course which offers stunning views and a burst of colour at every 1km as runners are showered with rainbow dust. Over the last three years, Run Or Dye participants have raised over £70,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, and this year the event aims to reach the £100,000 mark.
A family fitness festival and fun run with a distance to suit all ages
Five thousand runners are expected to take part in Run or Dye with all participants encouraged to get covered head-to-toe in colour, before running, jogging or dancing through five different dye and foam zones before reaching the finish line. Once the runners have finished their 5k, 3.5k or 1k courses they’ll have a chance to experience a true festival atmosphere with paint-throwing games, music from live bands, a variety of street food stalls and free access to the Penshurst Place Adventure Playground. Children and adults of all ages can take part, with a special 1k dash for mini-runners under the age of six when they are accompanied by an adult.
In 2018 family fitness blogger Lisa Thake took part in the world’s most colourful run and commented, “Penshurst Place is stunning, I knew the event wouldn’t disappoint! Run Or Dye is such a family orientated event and so good to see so many kids, parents and whole families taking part. It is rare that I do an event with my husband but even more so with my son and his girlfriend and so finishing together was great! We were all covered in different coloured dye and the party atmosphere continued at the finish with games involving the crowd and you guessed it – more dye!
This year, Run or Dye in conjunction with GOSH Charity will be offering free entries to 100 fundraisers who pledge to raise £100. All runners who choose to fundraise will receive fundraising ideas, support and inspiration throughout the build up to the event from GOSH Charity’s dedicated community fundraising team. In addition to this, luxury make-up and skincare brand Clinique will also be supporting fundraisers by providing a gift for each runner who raises £200.
Since launching in 2016 Run or Dye has helped fundraisers reach an incredible £70,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. The money has supported the Kiss It Better Appeal which funds pioneering research into new and kinder treatments for childhood cancers. More than 2,000 children are treated for cancer by Great Ormond Street Hospital each year, and Run or Dye aims to continue helping to support the incredible work at the hospital by reaching £100,000 raised in total.
The festival culminates in an explosion of dye from the Run Or Dye stage, with a game for all participants aptly named ‘Tie Dye the Sky’ ensuring that this truly is the World’s Most Colourful Run!
